Growing up in in the suburbs of Boston, I spent long summer days at the town pool and summer camps. In those days, there was no need to sign up in advance, everything was free, and kids came and went as they pleased. I loved my days playing games all morning and swimming all afternoon with my friends, but what I looked forward to most each summer was our week on the Cape. We would get a small cottage in Chatham near the beach and the time spent there with my family was wonderful.
My husband and I are very fortunate to have our own Cape house. My girls have been blessed to be able to spend entire summers on the Cape with family and friends. My goal is to help other families that would benefit from stress free time together, in what my grandfather called “God’s country”, Cape Cod.
We’ve all heard the old adage, “Salt Water Cures Everything”, but sadly that’s not the case. However, I’m a firm believer that it certainly can provide a new perspective and outlook.
My hope is is that these families will have a renewed sense of well being and know that whatever circumstances they’re facing, there is hope, beauty and peace in the world, they only need to know where to find it.
